Anthea Bundy is 25 years old and is originally from Falkirk, Scotland.
Anthea used to compete in Highland Dancing, under instruction of Delma Wilson, until she was seventeen years old. During Anthea’s years of competing, she won over eighty open championships worldwide, including the Scottish National, Scottish, British, Commonwealth, Australian Commonwealth, Champion of Champions, SDCCS, North American, European and, her biggest achievement, the World Championship in 2010 and 2012.
Anthea was then accepted to study on the Musical Theatre Course at the Dance School of Scotland, where she obtained her ATCL Diploma in Musical Theatre. Afterwards, Anthea moved to London to study her degree in Professional Dance & Musical Theatre at the prestigious Bird College.
After graduating, Anthea was auditioning within the Musical Theatre Industry. Anthea was successful in securing a UK pantomime after graduating, where she toured the UK as ‘Aladdin’ in “Aladdin”. Anthea has also done some TV work, as well as theatre, including “Lovesick” (Netflix), “Heart of Darkness” (ABC), “Waterloo Road” (BBC), “River City” (BBC), and most recently, “Annika” (In Production - ITV).
Anthea unfortunately had to stop performing late 2018, as she required knee surgery after being in a serious accident. Anthea is near enough back to full dancing, so she hopes to return to London in the near future to secure a job in the West End when the industry reopens.
During lockdown in 2020, Anthea decided to complete her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training with Himalaya Yoga Valley Online. Anthea’s training was in Ashtanga Yoga which is a very traditional and physically strong form of yoga which is based upon the principle of integrating the eight limbs of yoga into your life.
Yoga is now a part of Anthea’s everyday life and she hopes to continue studying yoga worldwide.
Anthea hopes to share her knowledge of yoga with others, and allow them to experience the benefits, both physically and mentally, that she has experienced herself through yoga.
Anthea wishes she did yoga when competing in Highland, as she knows it would have been extremely beneficial to her dancing. Join Anthea where she will share this knowledge with you!
