Morgan Bamford started Highland Dancing when she was two years old with the New Zealand non-board version of Highland Dancing. She competed for the first time at age six, and by seven had started to make the change to RSOBHD. At eight years old, in 2001, Morgan travelled to Melbourne - Australia and danced in her first RSOBHD championship. She placed fourth overall in the Australian Commonwealth 12 and under category. In the same year she travelled to Scotland where she won first place at the World Pipe Band Championship, Commonwealth Championship and the eight years and under Scottish Championship at Cowal Highland Gathering. Following her success at eight, Morgan travelled to Scotland for 13 years consecutively; winning eight consecutive Scottish Championships and six consecutive World Titles. After two years of placing in the top three of the adult world championships, Morgan won her seventh World Title (Adults) at age 20. Morgan is the second person to win the Juvenile World Championship at 12 years old in 2005. 16 years later in 2021, there is yet to be another 12 year old to win again. In addition, Morgan is currently the only person to have ever won every single Scottish and World Championship age group. Morgan has won numerous Championships in Scotland, Australia and New Zealand, including the British Overseas, British Open, Commonwealth, Champion of Champions, Grand Australasian, International championship of Australia, New Zealand Championships and other regional championships in Australia and New Zealand. In 2014 and 2016 after retiring from competitive dance, Morgan performed in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and also qualified as both an RSOBHD Adjudicator and a BATD Fellow member. In 2017 Morgan was honoured to be made an honorary life patron to Cowal Highland Gathering. Morgan opened the Morgan B School of Dance when she was 17 years old. By the age of 25, Morgan was teaching Highland, and Acro with 150 enrolled students. Since then, she has stopped teaching Acro to pursue 4 years of full time study to become a midwife. Whilst studying, Morgan still teaches approximately 65 Highland Dancers. Morgan is proud to have trained three New Zealand Champions, three International Champions, one Scottish Juvenile medalist and one Junior World Championship Qualifier. In 2018, Morgan took 15 dancers to compete in Disneyland Paris where they took home first place in the ‘whole school’ group choreography section. Morgan has been lucky to have been invited to conduct workshops in Scotland, Ireland, Australia, Canada, the United States of America, and she has held numerous workshops via zoom in 2020 and 2021. Morgan is both honoured and excited to be a part of the 2021 David Wilton Dance Clinics
